Dr. P R Krishnan is an eminent Neurologist from Bangalore specialising in Headache & Epilepsy.

 

He completed his medical graduation - MBBS in 1992 from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (Bangalore University), post graduation - MD (Internal Medicine) in 1997 from the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry. In 2002, he pursued DM (Neurology) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi and DNB (Neurology) from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. 

 

He acquired more than twelve years of post qualification experience in Adult Neurology at a 1000 bed tertiary care hospital in addition to others.

 

He is a teacher and assessor at the Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. Currently he is working as Consultant Neurologist at Fortis Hospital, a JCI and NABH accredited tertiary care hospital with well equipped Emergency and ICU care. He is associated with the hospital since December, 2009. Dr. Krishnan is also available for consultancy at his private clinic 'Medineuro Speciality Clinic' located at Gottigere, Bangalore.

 

Previously he worked with Salmaniya Medical Complex, a 1000-bed Ministry of Health tertiary referral hospital in Bahrain for 7 years. He was responsible for inpatients, outpatient clinic and nerve conduction studies, EMG and reported EEGs, day-to-day management of patients and their discharge from service. He provided Neurology consultancy for other specialty departments in the hospital. He was Member of the departmental Medical Review Committee which screened the mortality and morbidity in the specialties of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Dr. Krishnan undertook active research and publications in Neurology and co-authored Cochrane meta-analysis. He formulated departmental policies and procedures for the Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Bahrain for the department of Clinical Neurosciences and also assisted McKinsey with a clinical quality improvement initiative. He was involved in teaching medical students at the Arabian Gulf University and was part of their Professional Skills Assessment. He regularly attended lectures on evidence-based medicine at the Arabian Gulf University and workshops on research methodology and statistics.

 

Post his Senior residency in JIPMER and AIIMS, he worked for a brief period with CARE Poulomi Hospital, Secunderabad.
